postpartum depression

I was not sure where exactly to put this at, so I put it here. My sister in law has had difficulty with depression even before getting pregnant, and now, four weeks after delivering my gorgeous niece, I believe she's having trouble with postpartum depression. Has anyone had this before? She's talked to her doctor a few times since the delivery, and he has not even discussed it with her, even though he knew she had trouble with it before the pregnancy. Any suggestions?

If her doctor won't discuss it with her she should ask for a referral to a psychologist. Postpartum is a bigger issue these days and more is known about it than ever. There is no need for her to deal with it when they can help her be free to enjoy the new family addition instead.

I was depressed for a little while, my hubby was gone most of the times and I was left with this screaming baby who wanted me to be there all the time. I was realy bad for me at that time.

The best way to get over anxiety and depression is to take a break from your regular schedule, go out, and take good sleep. This helps in clearing the mind and try consulting a spe******t who can suggest you as how you can get over your problem. There are various prescription drugs to get over anxiety and depression, but these should only be used in accordance with the instruction of a physician.

Talk it out

Its always better to be able to talk about it, I guess thats why were all here. If she keeps all of her emotions in and isn't able to express them then it might get worse. I go to this site called Birthologie, and i has articles on postpartum depression and other articles about breast feeding and it really helped me out some knowing about different issues before and after pregnancy.
