Saves money really?

My best friend uses cloth diapers because she says it saves money. I do not agree with that statement. If you think about it you use more water, energy, and time for the cloth diapers so does anyone know the statistics? Seems like it would be about the same if you added it all together, but I am not sure on that.

Honestly I never really thought about it but I like the convenience of disposables. I would think even if you used cloth you would need some disposables for when you are out and about, unless you are going to carry around a dirty diaper with you all day. Gross!

Not only do you save money but you save a LOT of money not to mention how much better it is for the environment. It's all about how much your time is worth to you. They have systems developed now where it won't take you any longer to deal with cloth than it does to wash your laundry.

When there are 18 billion disposable diapers going to landfills each year in the US alone then it definitely is worth it for the environment. I can see using them when you are traveling and such but it is better for their skin as well.

Cloth diapers are definitely cheaper to use and especially so if they are given to you as a gift. Disposables are handier when you are out and about, but they are also costly.

We are planning to use cloth at home and disposables if we go out for more than an hour or so. I added up how much we have spent on disposables over the past two years....I could have bought a new car!

It's just plain gross to me too! I don't think it saves money just as you said. You are also taking a ton of time rinsing and washing the diapers instead of tossing them out. It might be better for the environment but it's just not feasible to me.
