She won't go to bed!

My second granddaughter is almost two and she just will not stay in bed. Her four year old sister was a joy to put to bed and was never any problem, listening to her story tapes, after being read a story by mum, but nothing seems to work with the little one and I have run out of advice. Help!

You wont like my advice but I used to watch supper nanny and what she does really works. After you read the story and turn out the light when she gets out of bed do not say anything to her just take her back to the bed. It may take 6 hours of this 3 nights in a row but eventually you will have your happy bedtime.

I am certain that this is what they do. They never give in to her and allow her to stay up but always take her back to her bed and they do this several times each evening but nothing seems to work with this little one. She wakes early too. She just seems to have an excess of energy!

I had a couple of stepkids at one time who were both like that. It took months of taking them back to bed to break them of the habit and even then they still got up once in a while. Consistency and repetition are the keys here, but if she is a bundle of energy they may never get terrific results like her older sister.
