Single Parents?

Do we have any other single parents here?

I have been a single parent to my oldest since he was born. And I am BOTH mom and dad, as dad has never seen him.

I guess I will be a single parent. My dad will do what he can, but it's not the same thing. I have my doubts that my baby's real father will be very active in his/her life. I really hate that my baby will have to suffer for my bad choices.

I am a single mother to my two and a half year old daughter. She hasn't seen her father since she was six months old and that is for the best as he was violent and negligent.

I am also a WAHM, so things really do get tough. I never get a break, often not even to go to the bathroom alone. She is my shadow and I love her dearly, but I'd love to drink a coffee, hot, without fear of her dragging it all over herself, or me!

Some of the best parents I have ever met were single parents. Never be hard on yourself for choices you have made in life. Our potential mates do not come with instructions or a little note that tells us all their bad qualities. If they did, it would make dating alot easier.

I agree with you Alexis. I think what makes single parents as the best parents is the fact that they themselves are afraid that their children will experience the same bad experience as they did have before. That is why they try their best to give them the best life can offer, a good education, sheltered life, better provisions, etc.

I have been a single mom since my son was 8 months old. I can't say it was easy, he is now 4. But considering I have always done things my way it all worked out for the best. Because I and on one else gets to decide what's best for him. I can however confess that as he gets older things get tougher because he is a boy and does have questions that will only get more serious as he grows into a man.

One of my closest friends is a single parent, and it's definitely something that he seems to be struggling with at times.

To raise a kid completely by yourself can definitely be very trying at times, but I thankfully am not saying this from experience!
