Snacks That Aren't Messy

We are going on a short car trip this upcoming holiday weekend and I would like to bring some snacks for the girls to munch on, the problem is I don't want food all over in my vehicle. Does anyone have any ideas on some relatively healthy snacks that don't make a mess?

What about trail mix, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, crackers and cheese or gogurts? They all tend to travel well and keep the mess contained. But with kids eating in the car you will most likely always have a mess of some sort to contend with. I just put a blanket down under them.

I have made several long trips with my 3 year old. No matter what I give her to eat in the car, it goes all over the place. I just put a towel on the entire seat just to be on the safe side. I also check at every rest area and try to wipe as I go so the mess is less at the end of the trip.

Here is an article on healthy, non-messy snacks that are perfect for children while travelling:

In my opinion, fruit, vegetables and dairy is the ideal combination.
