My baby was born at 28 weeks gestation. Doing very well now and nearly 4.5 months (2 months corrected) and almost 5 kg.
Because she was this much premature I need to give her Mulitvitamin liquid (Pentavite) and Iron liquid (Ferro-Liquid) on a daily basis untill she will get solids. As she is now 2 months corrected, still 4 months to go with the vitamin & Iron.
I used to give it to her just using the teat of a bottle or just giving it in a bottle mixed with breast-milk. I am breast-feeding her for the rest.
But, all of a sudden she stopped taking the bottle and teat. She either has it in her mouth and doesn't do anything, just plays with it, she cries or she projectile vomits.
Does anyone have a tip to administer her the vitamin & iron? I've tried spraying in her mouth with a syringe, but she spits it out.
I tried different teats & my husband giving her the bottle instead of me, giving it when she was half asleep and giving it when she is really hungry.
Don't know what to do, but need to give her the vitamins.
any tips are very welcome..
