Are there certain tastes that you are surprised that your child likes? I know I was surprised that my youngest, when he was about 18 months, liked the taste of cod liver oil - none of the others particularly like it but he did. Also, I was surprised that when one child was around 5 or so, he liked Perrier water. Not sure why it surprised me, but it did.

My daughter loves pickles. She has been eating them since she was 18 months. One day she grabbed one from my plate. She puckered her face, but didn't give up. She kept eating and puckering.

When my oldest daughter was a toddler, she would take butter from the table and eat it off the dish. I have a daughter that won't eat anything on the plate that touches anything else on the plate. I have a niece that hates chicken; no matter who it's cooked.

Yes they all have their little idiosyncracies. My four year old has loved curry since she was a baby and my two year old loves peanuts. My nine year old nephew eats dry crackers and won't eat anything that has even been touched by gravy.
