Teething

Hi! My daughter is not yet 7 months and has been teething intensively for about 2 months. She has already gotten her first 4 front teeth with quite a lot of suffering involved and now it has gotten worse. She gnaws away at everything she finds, pulls on her ears (the doctor said she had a little bit of pressure in her ears, probably because of the teething) and she is extremely irritable. I have used gel on her gums and some homeopathic medicin, but that doesnt really help her. I also tried Otrivin, a nose spray to ease the pressure in her ears, but that also does not seem to help. She wakes up almost every hour at night either to feed or because she is in discomfort and just wakes up because of that. Not much sleep going on in this house and would really appreciate some advice.
Thank you!

Have you tried one of those teething rings with the fluid in it that you can freeze. My daughter have a six month old and he just grew two front teeth and she gives him these to chew on when his gums bother him. They seem to work for him. He chews on every thing too. Sometimes through he seems to just so crabby with it and the only thing that work to stop him from crying is to rub his gums with a finger. But be careful you don't get bitten.

Hyland's makes Teething Tablets that are WONDERFUL! But even at that, sometimes the babies' teeth are SO painful that a little acetominophen (Tylenol) is all that will help.

Back in the old days we would give our babies sugar cubes. Its sweet so they don't mind gnawing on it and it helps scratch their gums. You could also get Zieback crackers. They disintegrate after a while but while they last, their course so they scratch. Other than that, patience.
