What's the best advice you can give to parents on health and nutrition for their new baby?

I think it's a big learning process. The best advice I could give you would be to do some reasearch, and when you find information that you think might be useful ask the opinions of other parents and/or your pediatrician. Asking experienced people will generally steer you in the right direction. But you have to be a little more specific with your questions.

This is not exactly for the new baby, but for as they get older. One bit of advice... try not to get them hooked on sugar right away. It kind of bothers me to see babies with cookies and candy. I'd try to make healthier choices there. Give them a wheat cracker instead of a graham cracker, or some regular cheerios for a snack instead of the sweetened ones. Fruit is always a better option than candy. And never give them soda at all. Artificial sweeteners are unhealthy too, so no diet anything. For drinks, stick to fruit juice, water, and milk.

Thats my two cents worth.

Your baby doctor is the best resource for this kind of question.
