What about grand parents who are step-grand parents? I have seen this a few times that if you are a step *any type of parent* you are always a little lower on the likable level.

Well I have a stepmom and my kids know she is my stepmom but there is no difference in how much they like her. They call her grandma and everything. She doesn't have biological kids so I know she is thrilled for it!
