My husband and I have been having this conversation recently. I am pregnant with my second child and he is really hoping for a boy this time. What were your reasons for or against circumcision?

We have been discussing this too and I don't know what we will ultimately decide. There really isn't any medical reason to do it so we may not.

Having had boys, some who were circumcised at birth and some who were not; go with circumcision. There may not be any medical reasons but there sure are hygienic reasons. The skin traps dirt, lint, excrement, and urine. As they get older and cleansing is no longer in your hands, that amounts to bacteria, infections and smells. And when he gets old enough, he'll pass that on to his partner.

We also discussed this before our son was born. I never realized what the whole reason was behind it I just agreed with it. The hygienic issue is what really made me decide to do have my son done.
