Too Many Gifts

I think I may have posted in the past about some relatives kids who get so much for christmas that it just turns into one huge rip and toss party. Rip the paper off the package, toss the package aside. It's frustrating seeing them rush through a pile of gifts like the whole purpose of the holiday is simply to see who can tear paper the fastest. I say it every year, but next year... seriously, I think I'm going the gift card route. And I'm gonna put it in a colorful tin and stick a bow on top...... no paper to tear at all!!!

My little girl ended up with a few too many toys this year too, but everyone wanted to spoil her a little bit. And shes only one! I have a picture taken of her surrounded by bears (her fav) and its super adorable. I do get where you are going though, and my children will not be like that. A gift card would be a really good idea.

We always go through toys when the holidays pass to donate to local charities. Our rule is one in, one out. So if you got three new toys you have to give up three toys. They get put in a box with everyone else's and dropped off without the kids there. That way if they have to choose between a new gift or an old favorite we can tuck it aside to save for later.
