Travel System
Does anyone use a travel system? It's one of those multi purpose car seat / stroller things. I was just wondering if you're happy with it or do you think it's better to buy the items seperately? I'd kind of like to hear the pros and cons from someone who's used the product.

I haven't used the product yet, but my husband and I have been looking at them. We found one for twins, and we think that's the route we're going. Anything to help simplify outings will be fantastic.

They would save you money. Anything that saves money is a good thing. Things like that are also a space saver if you don't have a lot of space for storing.

I had a friend that had something like that. It was great when you were coming from the mall and all you had to do was transfer the whole seat, baby and all, to the car. If the baby was sleeping, it prevented waking the baby up. They never knew that they were moved.
The collasable base was like folding a lawn chair. It was fairly lite to lift to put in a trunk.

The travel system is a great idea, but the thing that is annoying about it is that it is just so big! It takes up practically the whole trunk of your car. We did get a travel system but shopped around a lot until we could find one that was a little smaller.

I have had one for both my children. My son outgrew the infant car seat sooner than my girl did, he is a tad taller than her. She is over a year now and just now within the past month outgrew it, shes such a little shorty. The strollers last forever, quite durable, the only bad part is after abit if in and out of the trunk of a car it starts to give you some muscles for the weight of it.

I think I'll just go with a car seat and stroller than a car seat stroller combo.

Travel System
We have the chicco cortina travel system. It is great. When our baby was born she only weighed 5 lbs 13 oz and this car seat was great for a smaller baby. (we didnt need to add any inserts.) The fact that we could easily transfer car seat to stroller and then back to car without disturbing baby made outings simple. This car seat/stroller combo (like most travel systems) also has a hood on the car seat and stroller that fold together, protecting baby from wind, sun, and rain. The reason why we chose the chicco cortina was because of the car seats high safety rating on the consumer reports. I'm 5'3 and a 100lbs and it is not a problem for me to fold and lift the stroller into the car.
Now our baby is 10 months. She weighs 17lbs and still fits in the car seat perfectly. I will admit that I no longer use the stroller, because I've moved on to a maclaren umbrella stroller. (which is much simpler) But I used the travel system stroller for about the first 8 months and I really felt that it was necessary to have.
I'm pregnant again and due the end of August. So even though I'm sure my baby could use her current car seat for well over a year, we intend to pass it down to the new baby, and plan on getting her a britax convertible car seat.
Hope I was of some help.

Travel system
Hi,
I have 2 children and have used the travel systems with both. I find that they are more convenient, especially as newborns and infants. The car seat goes straight from the base in the car, to the stroller and you don't have to wake up baby or carry a heavy car seat around everywhere you go. I used this system

it was lightweight and made very comfortable for baby. Also very stylish, not that style is the most important, lol. The one hand fold option was nice as well especially since us moms seem to only have one hand available most of the time, lol.
Hope this helps a little, have a good day!
