Tweens and Make-up

When did you allow your tween or teen to use a little bit of make-up? Not just for dress up at home but for her every day life.

I wasn't allowed anything more than lip gloss (clear color, not opaque) until I was 14. I see plenty of kids younger than that wearing makeup all the time, but you can't always be sure they wear it at home as well. I think 13/14 is plenty young enough to wear a bit of blush, mascara and lipstick/lipgloss around the house. It used to be a finishing school taught you that you were not dressed until you had on lipstick, blush and mascara.

I was thinking around that age, 13/14, as well. I just want to make sure she learns how to wear it properly. You know, less is more!
