What age is appropriate to give a little one a tricycle? My daughter's birthday and Christmas are only a few weeks apart and she will be two. Is that too young for a tricycle?

I believe we got each of the girls their first bikes at 2. Even if it is a little young they will start to get use to the idea and soon enough they will be hard to stop!

If the kid can sit on it without falling off, she's probably old enough to get one. It might take a while to figure out how to pedal it, but she will still like it, probably!

If she will be 2 around Christmas I think it will make a fine Christmas gift! She will probably really love it. Don't forget the streamers and the horn!

There are trikes that have straps to make them safe, and that have handles for the parent to push. They then adapt as the child grows-making them suitable for a very long time.

Two is plenty old enough for a trike. You can even buy the one with the detachable handle on back so that you can push her around until she learns to pedal. My son and daughter were on one way before 2.
