What age for first eye exam?

My grand daughter is ready for kindergarten. She has some strange habits when drawing and coloring. I'm wondering how young a child can be and still have a good eye exam. She doesn't know all of her alphabet. When she colors she has her head turned to one side and close to the page.

My daughter is 5. To enroll her into school this year I had to take her to have an eye exam and she had to pass a hearing test.

I have seen kids as young as 2 with glasses so I think as soon as they are old enough that you notice something might be off with their vision is old enough! It is probably a good idea to take her in just to be on the safe side.
