Sophia is very beautiful name. In Spanish we spell it Sofia. It means wisdom. I hope that your baby girl get lots of wisdom. This name is very common in Mexico and Colombia. It has been increasing in popularity lately and it is a the top of several lists I have been checking to choose my baby's name.

So it means wisdom. I think I have ever read a book titled Sofia (or Sophia?), and yes it tells about wisdom. Anyway, it's a nice name, but doesn't it sound "old"?

I agree. I think it is a good name. I was thinking about calling our baby girl Sofia, but one of our close friends named their baby sofia first

I didn't know it meant wisdom though.
