The ladies I "hang" with on the couponing forums are always paying attention to how much per diaper it comes out to when doing deals and deciding whether to buy a few or a closet full (no joke). Most of them won't pay over .11-.15 per diaper. What do those of you who use disposables pay on average? Or have you never thought about it?
I use cloth, and I would say that I pay anything from $1.50 for a cheap prefold to $20 for a really beautiful, trim, all in one diaper that is easy for the diaper bag. Of course with them being reused I would say each use becomes pennies and you can then sell them off at the end and recoup probably 50% of your purchase cost.
I've always liked cloth myself (thats what I had as a kid, still have a stack somewhere) but I don't have kids so faced with a pile of messy laundry I might change my mind a bit. Its really scary to me that people are all pro-breastfeedign but still use plastic diapers by the ton. Seems contradictory.
