How long before the shower should you send out invitations? I am throwing a shower for my best friend and so happy to get to do it. Still I have never thrown a shower before so I am a little nervous.

I would send them out about a month before if it was me, that way everyone can adjust their schedules and have time to plan for a gift. I haven't planned one either but I like invitations to come as early as possible.

I agree with LaraC. About 3 weeks to a month lets everyone get time off work and figure what they want to get the little one. In my case it gives me enough time to either have mother in law make a blanket or dad make something of wood!

I think the others are right here. Around 3 weeks to a month should give everyone plenty of time to adjust their schedules and get a present for the little one.

I agree, about 3-4 weeks before is perfect. Maybe if there is from out from out of town or with special circumstances let them know before so they can plan a bit.
