Who was embarrassed?

My granddaughter is breastfeeding her son at the moment and on a long car journey she stopped the car in a lay by to feed him. Although she had her breast covered with a muslin square, a bus loaded with workmen stopped beside her and began whooping and whistling. She, clever girl, waved at them and smiled whilst continuing to feed her son. They all looked sheepishly at each other and looking embarrassed drove away. They had hoped to embarrass her but it was the other way round!

I applaud your granddaughter! It's men like this that want to take something natural like breastfeeding and make it an issue. I was unable to breastfeed but if I could have I would have, it is natural and it is the best thing for babies.

Stupid is as stupid does. Tell your daughter to keep it up and ignore the ignorant. Remember, if common sense was common, everyone would have it.

Wow I commend your granddaughter! My kids mom did a similar thing to a man that was walking by her in a restaurant that wouldn't quit starring. I think it is a beautiful healthy thing to care for your baby and shouldn't be made to be something like that. Those men give us that are decent a bad name!

No Cameron those men give Men that are decent a bad name because IMO there is not a bad name you can call a woman for breastfeeding her child. Breastfeeding is a beautiful and natural thing.

Thumbs up to your granddaughter! The more breastfeeding women can be secure in the knowledge that there's nothing to be ashamed of, the more acceptable it will be and for those women who want to breast feed longer, the better it will make it for them as well.

That's just great to hear! Its fools like that which make women switch to formula or wean too soon. I wish more people had the guts that she does.

Ahh no woman should be embarrassed about breast-feeding! It sickens me that those men would whoop and cheer like your granddaughter was doing a striptease or something. She sounds like a smart woman, putting all those men down like that. GO GIRL.
