You suck as a mom.

How does one tell a best friend that they simply suck as a mom? I know it's not the nicest thing to say but I seriuosly feel that my best friends parenting is bad.

She doesn't have a car so her son has been sleeping over my house so I can take him to school in the morning with my son. I don't mind keeping him but her son spends the evening with her yet she won't even bathe the kid! She sends him with a change of clothes and underwear expecting ME to bathe him, meanwhile he just spend the entire evening with her! Why didn't she just give him a shower?!! There's these little things that she does or better yet doesn't do that just irk me! she's so lazy sometimes!!!

I tell my best friend straight up. You know what? She's too silly to even get offended. Seriously, I tell her she needs to stop dumping her son (born in Feb) off at her moms for the weekend (no one day but Friday night to Sunday night) so her and her husband (married Oct) can have "alone" time to repeat the stupidity. she just looks at me and says "but my mom likes having him over" like its the only answer.

Put your foot down. Tell her its fine you drive him to school but he needs to show up bathed and ready for bed, not ready for you to do it all.

I have never been one that could shut up and be nice about stuff like that. I have a horrible habit of telling people things I see wrong in them and I'm always blunt about it.

Tell her straight up that it's not okay that she does not bather her child when she has had plenty of time to do so. Make sure she knows you don't mind him staying at your house, but you will no longer be responsible for anything except putting his PJ's are and getting him off to bed.

Easier said than done guys I love her to pieces and she's not a bad mom, she's just a lazt one! But I did manage to remind her that her son didn't wake up on time to take a shower these past two days and she was in total awe! That he hadn't bathe. But I told her there was nothing I could do in the morning so maybe she should try giving him a shower in the evenings at home. So... yesterday he was freshly cleaned

Thank you guys!

My sister was like that, might still be like that. I won't keep her kids anymore because she thought I was supposed to raise them for her. I tried being nice about it, because she is my sister but sometimes you just have to tell straight.

I don't understand why he has to stay with you anyway. So she doesn't have a car-big deal. She is able to send him over to you at night, so why can't she do that in the morning? He has a home, but right now you are more like the custodial parent and she is just visiting...

Karis, please don't be offended by this, but it sounds like someone is being taken advantage of, and it's not your friend. Where do you live? Are there no school buses there? My kids ride the bus to school everyday and I have a car. They do perfectly fine with it and it helps me out because of the gas money it saves me. It's fine if she wants you to take him to school since you're taking your son anyway, but for him to have to sleepover with you every night is a little too much IMO. It sounds like she could just as easily bring him over in the mornings and let him get with you.

Oh there are a few deadbeat moms I know of.

One of my ex-colleagues is one, sad to say. She goes clubbing and brings different men home on different nights. One time I had to send over something to her place and I caught her cajoling with this guy that looked like a complete ass WITH BOTH her sons in the same room. I was so mad! Poor kids. They must have been so confused. Mom and dad share custody, but their dad is just like their mom, if not worse. I don't know, I just feel very disappointed when I see such things happening. Last I heard the kids are staying with their grandparents permanently, which I think is better than getting kicked around here and there like an unwanted ball.

I think you just have to be blunt and firm with your friend. Tell her straight up what she's doing is bothering you. You have to stop being a pushover at some point.

Good luck and god bless you for being such a kind soul.
